Ugh. I just spent, literally, the entire day grading papers. I had 4 sets of exams from last week, plus 4 sets of quizzes, the double dose of grading courtesy of the snow day the week before. The quiz got bumped. I intended to get to it before the exam was given, but then life intervened.

So let's see, that's . . . 12 hours of grading, with a small break for lunch and dinner.

Blech. Blech, blech, blech.

The only good news is that the stats and management exams went rather well, with averages above 70%. While the intermediate algebra exams . . . were not as good. Better then I expected though. There are some students that need to drop the class, or need to wise up and *ahem* perhaps start coming to class, doing the homework, and pay attention.

But I'm headed toward a small rant there, so I'll cut it off now.

In other news . . . well, there is no other news. The weekend has been one of grading and recuperation. I got little to no sleep at all Tuesday-Friday. And now the Academy Awards are on. So I'm going to veg. I'm not even going to worry about the fact that I don't have any lecture for tomorrow.

My Lunacon schedule will be posted sometime this week. Keep watch. And I hope to appear more often this week on LJ. Last week was just . . . nuts.

Ha! Good luck with this! The last time I taught, it was at a community college and I had this particular class with a bunch of students who simply did not care. As much as I would have loved to have helped them out, I realized later on that there wasn't anything I could do for them if they weren't willing to be helped. In fact, I was honestly puzzled why they were even going to college if they had no desire to do as well as they could. I had classes that I had no interest in other than getting the general education credit, but I still tried to get the best grade I could get so my GPA would be as good as possible.

Ahhh, math teacher whiner! Try grading 100 plus bad papers on the symbolism and themes in Chinua Achebe Things Fall Apart tough guy! (All said tongue firmly in cheek.) The snow here in Syracuse has me waaaay behind for my English 10s b/c I had intended to have them read Animal Farm over break. Oh well.
