There's a new writer here on LJ named Benjamin Tate ([livejournal.com profile] benjamintate) who you may or may not have heard of. Probably not. In any case, he's starting some posts on writing that you might find interesting.

Check the first post out here.

I may have to do an Author Introduction for this guy. *grin*

PS--I've repaired the "OMG HUGE PICTURE" problem. Sorry about that.

Huh. It will be nice to meet him sometime. Although his dialogue seems a bit familiar for some reason....

I think he was at Albacon last year, and I'm pretty sure I've seen him around.

well, if you only think you have seen him around, then he probably needs to get out more. Possibly to bars.

I saw that Ben Tate will be having a book launch party for First Friday in May... I think it's going to be in the old Nighteagle space. We should drop by and say Hi.

hmmm. That may be a possibility.

I believe Ben intends to invite all of his friends to the launch party. It's RSVP, I heard. Invites haven't been distributed yet though.

Not a problem. Did you check out the book yet? Or his webpage?

Checked out the journal first, then the book on borders.com. It looks good. I've posted links on my lj for the book. Will check out the website on your recommendation. ;)

A rather well-known author attended a writers conference that I went to a couple of years ago. It so happens that he writes fantasy under one name and thrillers under another. At the bookstore/autograph party event, I picked two of his books, one of each genre and waited in line to have them signed. As he did so, he had to check the covers in order to make sure he signed the right name in the correct book. I'm wondering if any other writers have or might have that problem.

Hmm . . . I can certainly see why that would become a problem. Not that I've experienced this. (Yet.)

I have this novel.

Sitting on the to-be-read pile. :)

Considering how busy we are these days, this reading may be postponed until we move to Maryland for the coming academic year. The college's library is small ....

Love, C.

So you must have gotten an ARC or review copy then. You'll have to let us all know what you thought of it when you get a chance to read it.

I've read the first 20 or so pp.

Find a certain number of historical disturbances here, particularly in terms of language, names, geography and populations.

The writing is good.

Love, C.
