First, I've just posted the latest book discussion over at
dawbooks. It's about Michelle West's The Hidden City, the first book in The House Wars series. It came out in paperback last month, so if you've read it, head on over and tell everyone what you thought of it.
I'm continuing the free book giveaways here on my LJ. This time, I'm giving away the first books in Patricia Bray's (
pbray's) two series: Devlin's Luck, the first book in The Sword of Change series, and The First Betrayal, the first book in The Chronicles of Josan trilogy. And guess what? BOTH BOOKS ARE SIGNED! Yes, you could win a signed copy!

To enter the contest, simply leave a comment here, it's as easy as that. I'll select two people at random in another week or so (two winners, one book each). Feel free to spread the word about the contest, with links back to here if you want. The idea is to spread the word about the books I like after all. And if you've already read them, feel free to leave comments talking about how wonderful they are!

Date: 2009-04-16 06:03 pm (UTC)I'm in the position now that Josh was then. I've sold short stories (some to DAW which was how I first came across Josh) and now I have three novels (2 adult ones (SF and F) and one YA fantasy) completed but not sold. Finding an agent seems to be as difficult as finding a publisher, but I keep writing. Well, to be honest I can't stop writing. You know how it is.
Being in the UK means I never quite know which side of the Atlantic to concentrate my efforts on since I've sold more stories on the left side than the right.

Wishing you the best of luck!

Date: 2009-04-17 10:56 pm (UTC)And to be honest the I love to read fantasy. Unfortunately I didn't read a book by Patricia Bay so far. So this would be a good opportunity to start with
