It's not a long list. This is the problem with being a writer with a day job. You spend all of your free time writing instead of reading. *sigh*

4. Currently Reading: The Plutonium Blonde by John Zakour and Lawrence Ganem
3. Way of the Wolf by E.E. Knight
2. Bloodstone by Barbara Campbell
1. Plum Lucky by Janet Evanovich

(I think I read one other book in there somewhere, but I can't remember what it was.)

This is mostly for my benefit. I vowed to keep track of the books read and to review them all this year. Reviews are up over at GoodReads if you're interested.

I'm currently reading Way of the Wolf and I feel the same way. It's taking me forever to read it for that reason. But, I do like the take on vampires even if it does remind me a lot of the Stargate SG-1/Atlantis mythos.

I'm assuming you've read the review then, rather than this being a comment on life as a day-job writer. It's not that it was a bad book at all. Like you said, the take on vampires is very interesting. (I haven't gotten into Stargate SG-1/Atlantis, so don't know that mythos.) But I kept expecting the chapters to connect up somehow, and for the most part they don't. Only the last so many are connected into a single plot thread.

Yes, I read the review. At first it all seemed very exciting, the flight across the planes to rescue the farmers... and then it went into Endless Flashback City and hasn't come back. The background is interesting though, so I'm also hoping further books will be a little more plot-heavy.

But I hear you on the day-job. I've had to hack away at other things in the past few months, I cut down my friends list, I cut down some RPG games I was playing, and this morning cancelled World of Warcraft. If only I could cut down on the day job and get a little of the warcrack back in. LOL. But I'd rather write than play games any day.

Well, don't expect it to get back to that flight across the plains thing, really. There's a loose connection toward the end of the book . . . but it's very loose. Also hoping the next book or two in that series is better, since I've already bought them.

As for day-job vs. entertainment: I (unfortunately?) bought Civilization IV recently. *headdesk*

I can type, really. LOL.

I'd love to play Civ IV, but I'm not even going there. I'm kind of a one-video-game kind of guy anyway. When I started on WoW, I stopped finding time for The Sims. When I got into The Sims, that was goodbye to Curse of Monkey Island. I don't want video games to cut into D&D time with the family either. (The family that games together, slays together. ;) )

I think I'm going to let you read the rest of the E.E. Knight books first.
