So, I've been busy lately setting up an online store for my new small press called Zombies Need Brains. This is a site that will allow everyone to buy ZNB merchandise such as t-shirts with the press' logo, baseball caps, totes, art prints, and eventually the anthologies that the press will produce. We're hard at work getting the first anthology, CLOCKWORK UNIVERSE: STEAMPUNK vs ALIENS, into production and hope to have that available in the next few months. In the meantime, swing on by the shop and see what we have to offer.

You can also order some of my own books (both the Joshua Palmatier books and the now out-of-print Benjamin Tate books), anthologies that I have short stories in, and a "flea market" with odds and ends that I've picked up that might interest the SF&F crowd.

Just for curiosity's sake, wasn't a third Benjamin Tate book in the works? I've got both Well of Sorrows and Leaves of Flame and was thinking there would be a third. Or have I missed something.

Dave:

Yes, there is a third book to the Well of Sorrows series. It's called Breath of Heaven and it's completely written. However, DAW decided the series wasn't selling so well, and has decided not to publish the third book. However, since it's already written, my agent is attempting to find another publisher for the entire series (DAW was nice enough to give back the rights to the whole series). And even if my agent can't find a publisher (although my fingers are crossed), I will publish the series myself, since again, the third book is already written. There's no point in not publishing it, for those waiting for the end of the story.

Certainly a nice gesture for DAW to give back the rights to the entire series. I hope you (and your agent) find a new publisher for the series. If not, I hope you get around to putting it out yourself. I'll be looking forward to reading Breath of Heaven. I really liked the first two of this particular series as well as the Amenkor stories.

Best of luck with the series. It always struck me as shortsighted of NY to kill a three-part series at number two, regardless of the numbers or the outside circumstances (in this buying climate) that shaped them. :-( Glad you can fix that now.
Speaking of ZNB merchandise, will you be bringing any to Balticon? Or should I order my tote bag in advance? I think a little in-con advertising is definitely in order. :-)

Oh, I'll have all of the merchandise at Balticon, so wait and get a tote (or whatever) there. I'm hoping to sell a bunch of the stuff at the little "party" we'll be throwing.

At this stage, it's not looking like we'll have the actual anthology ready by then, although it will be close. Still holding out some hope, but it's looking less and less likely.

Cool on the goodies. Con souvenirs are always more fun.
I was hoping STEAMPUNK VS. ALIENS would launch there--and I'd still love for it to happen--but I thought Memorial Day might be cutting it a little fine. Pity there isn't something in the area around July 4.
