So tonight I played a new game Alhambra with [livejournal.com profile] jennifer_dunne. It requires three players, but you can play it with two if you have a fake third player that the rules call "Matt". I decided to call the third player [livejournal.com profile] pbray.

And can I just say that [livejournal.com profile] pbray is a bastard?

The first game went OK, except that both of us got killed by the imaginary player until we counted the longest wall at the end. Sad, sad, sad. The second game went a little better. The fake player was still a bastard, but at least we managed to be contenters. I ended up winning both games, but we should really play with an actual third player. It would effect the buying of the parts of the Alhambra significantly. But it was a fun time. I was seriously depressed earlier today and the two games managed to lift me out of that. Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] jennifer_dunne!

The refrain heard most often during the course of the game.... "You're a dirty dog." Usually just after Josh bought the tile I wanted, or picked up the money I was hoping to get so I could buy the tile I wanted...

And I miscalculated my last turn. I should have removed a piece from my alhambra, leaving an opening for more tiles. Since I *knew* that the tiles available wouldn't fit as it was. I thought Josh would take money, though, to try and get more of the last tiles. As a result, he completely whomped me. (His score lapped the score board, and started over again at the bottom.)
