I found this mention of LEAVES OF FLAME in a blog post by Mike Douton about authors unexpectedly breaking tropes in fantasy. In this case, it was a food trope that I broke. He didn't realize there was a trope until I broke it (along with a couple of other people he mentions). Check it out!
