Guest Blog: The Importance of Shelf Space

I've got a guest post up over at jimhines' blog today talking about the fact that B&N decided not to carry my new novel LEAVES OF FLAME on its shelves and exactly how disasterous this is for a new book, especially for an author attempting to build up his/her audience. I'm totally with you. And generally, when I don't find the book I want on the shelf at B&N, I end up buying it from Amazon. So B&N is shooting themselves in the foot. I'm certainly not going to go through the trouble of having B&N order it in for me, or even order and ship it to me. I want it to be there when I go into the store, especially if it's a new book, just released.

For what it's worth, I think LEAVES OF FLAME is part of the buy 4 for 3 thing on Amazon. It was the last time I checked. *grin*
