Guest Post: Writing Sequels!

I guest post over at Barbara Ashford's blog today about the trials and tribulations of writing that second novel in a series (or the third, fourth, etc). It does require it's own special technique, trying to get in past information from previous books without going into that info dump or "summary so far" blip at the beginning of the book. Those info dumps annoy me, and are boring, and I usually skip them even if I don't remember enough from the previous book...

I try to skip them as much as possible and just assume everyone's read and remembers the important stuff and blithely write on.
