I'll be attending NORWESCON in Seattle, WA, this weekend, and I figured I should probably post my schedule. I was waiting because there was a chance I'd be added to additional panels, but I haven't heard anything yet. If I do get on more paneling, I'll let everyone know.

I will have copies of my books (all of them) INCLUDING a few copies of the new mass market paperback of Well of Sorrows for sale. Quantities are limited. Just find me and we can make the exchange (books for money). All of the mass markets are $8, the trades with my short stories are $12, and the hardcovers are $10. Probably the best option is to catch me at the autographing, although you risk me running out of the books I brought with me before then.

Here's what I've got on the schedule so far:

Saturday, 9am Has the Future Arrived? The E-Book and the Publishing Industry

After years of slowly growing in popularity and profile, the e-book is now a significant medium for the distribution and sale of science fiction and fantasy. As with all new media, the e-book brings its own special set of challenges. How can publishers adjust to selling their books online rather than through physical distribution? How has the relationship changed now that readers, authors and publishers can connect more directly online? Where does this leave our local bookstore?

Cat Rambo, Darragh Metzger, Bob Kruger, Joshua Palmatier

Saturday, 1pm You’ve Finished Your Novel, Now How Do You Find an Agent?

Pro writers share advice based on their own experience.

So. I've been dying to know. Is Well of Sorrows dark? You know, your other series definitely has a dark edge. With the word "sorrows" in there, I kind of assume it's dark. But is it darker than the other? More humor? Less?

Point me to some early reviews?

Thanks,
Maria

Um . . . that's a hard question. I'd say it's dark, but not as dark as, say, The Skewed Throne. The main character isn't an assassin and doesn't end up going around killing people, so it's less violent in that respect.

Let me get back to you on some reviews. (I have to go look them up.)

Well now, being an ASSASSIN isn't dark, it's kick-ass. It's only when the ASSASSIN has to deal with certain characters that it is dark. :>) What do you mean it's a hard question???? :>)

Being an orphan...well that can definitely have some dark moments.

Well of Sorrows. It sounds so...sad. Dangerous. Must investigate the reviews.

There are four reviews up on amazon.com. I haven't found any others yet.

Those are nice strong reviews with some good descriptions. It doesn't sound dark really. Sounds more like a traditional fantasy--just a fairly unique setting (which you're particularly good at). Cool. Didn't mean to make you go looking for reviews, but at least all the initial feedback is positive. :>)
