Guinea Pigs
Jan. 30th, 2005 02:06 pmFor my birthday, good friends of mine got me a gift certificate at a local pet shop so that I could get myself a guinea pig. I haven't had one for about 2, maybe 3 years. I've pretty much had one since I was a kid, but the last two guinea pigs didn't die very well, so I'd decided I'd wait on getting a new one for a while. I've been to the pet shop a few times but the guinea pigs they had were too old. I want one that's young, so I can train it (not that they do much). Anyway, I went back again today and they have NO guinea pigs! But this is good news, since it means they should be getting in a new batch . . . and hopefully they will be young enough for me to be interested. We'll see.
Otherwise, not much is going on. I should be writing up some lectures for this coming week, but have managed to spend all my time on the web so far, reading and critting short stories and chapters for people at the Online Writing Workshop. But I think I've burned out on that for now. So I thought I'd update my journal, then start thinking about possible, perhaps, working on the lectures . . . or maybe I'll just read Terry Pratchett's "Thief of Time". We'll see.
Perhaps my partner will be interested in doing . . . "something".
