GALLEYS!!!! Part 2

So, I got ahold of my galleys today and low and behold they included the cover art WITH TITLE and author. Basically the dust jacket for the hardback. And. It's. So. Freaking. Cool. And the inside of the book . . . *tremble* They've got a little throne above each of the chapter headings. And cool graphics for each of the two parts (not a drawing, just some borders around the part title and such). And scene breaks are indicated with a little dagger. Just. Too. Awesome. I'm totally impressed by what DAW is doing to make this a great book. Or should I say great selling book. Hopefully I made it a great book. *looks modestly to the sky* I seriously think the cover will demand that people at least pick it up and look at it. I'll post the cover as soon as I either get it scanned OR my editor sends me the file. Hopefully I'll also be able to give the webpage URL once the art problems are resolved there.

Now I just have to find time to read the galleys and report all the typos and changes I want, since this is my last chance. After ripping the package open and rapturing about the cover art and inside typefaces and such . . . I had to put it aside to clean my apartment for the move out. It went fairly well, although it's taking longer than expected, as usual. Also the stove attacked me and now my hand is all cut up. But I only have a few things left to do: clean the refrigerator (ugh), vacuum the living room/dining room and kitchen floor, and wipe down the inside of the cupboards. I also have to Drano one of the bathroom sinks, which I haven't used in probably 3 years (the sink not the Drano) and decided that it didn't want to drain today. The sink I use on a regular basis was fine.

And now that you're all dead of boredom, I'll sign off for now.

Not yet. But I'm working on it. I'll post the link on LJ as soon as it's available . . . or at least point people to amazon once the cover shows up on there.

Excellent, Josh! That must be so cool to see an almost final copy of your first published work! I'm really looking forward to reading it.
