As some of you know (but maybe not all of you), Norwescon, the SF&F convention that I go to on Easter weekend every spring, also runs a writers workshop during the convention. Basically, you send in a piece of writing and you get some professional criticism of the piece by (typically) three or four published professionals while you're there at the con. Here's the link if you're interested. I've done this the last two years and it's very professionally run, with lots of good feedback from the pros during your critique session. I'd certainly recommend it. I also recommend the convention itself, which is not only good for learning some new writing skills and meeting fellow writers, but is also just great fun. You can follow the link to learn about the convention as well.
NOTE: The deadline for submission of material for the writing workshop is in December, which is why I'm posting this now.
