jpskewedthroneDone, done, done! Still need to reread it, but it feels pretty solid to me right now. We finally get to meet the real bad guy in this chapter, in person (sort of) and now almost everything that's been hinted at and alluded to in the previous part of the book is falling into place. Only one more revelation to go and then it's all downhill from there.
But the best thing is that I'm back on track for finishing this this summer. Rearrangement of some of the scenes in chapter 8 kind of threw everything out of whack, but chapter 9 worked all of those kinks out in a nice, unexpected way, and so now I'm back to the main rough outline without feeling like I forced anything to happen. Only 3 chapters to go, although I'm not sure how I'm going to fit everything in still. Seems like a lot of stuff still needs to happen before the book ends. Maybe my rough outline is too ambitious.
Anyway, this chapter clocked in at 31 pages, so the new tally is:
The Cracked Throne
*sigh* It's fun destroying ships and killing people.
