Short Story DONE!!!

After being completely and utterly lazy yesterday on the writing front, doing nothing at all, all day long--except read for pleasure, run errands, and angst--I sat my ass in the chair today and finished the short story for the anthology I was invited to. Is it a good story? I have no clue. I'm going to let it sit awhile, then come back to it toward the end of the month. Also run it through my local crit group, and the OWW. But, being excited about finishing it, I went to check up on the invite I received by email . . . and I can't find it. It was either deleted because it sat in my inbox too long, or I "saved" it somewhere, in some folder, and now I've forgotten where. *sigh* I'll have to get in touch with the editor in charge and ask for a resend, which makes me look completely unprofessional, which I hate. *grrr* I already know it's a little longer than what was requested, but I figured it will need some serious rewrites anyway, so the final product should be good.

But the story is done. An actual short story. Written by me. That hasn't (yet) blown itself up into a full-fledged novel. I've only done that once or twice in my lifetime.

I also spent part of today procrastinating on finishing off the short story by cleaning and organizing and packing things in boxes. For those in the know, let's just say I moved a bunch of crap to the 4th floor. We'll see what happens. It's kind of sad that it took less than an hour. No promises on my front, but you guys know that story already.
