First, an update on the "ice storm". We got nothing. Or rather, we had ice on the trees and stuff, but then it decided to rain all night. So the ice went away. And then, the following morning, it finally decided to turn to snow, so we ended up with MAYBE 3 inches. All of the rain also froze so we did get ice on the roads and such, but nothing significant on the trees, so there were no downed powerlines or anything like that here. I've heard that the rest of NY and the NE states did not fare so well. Here's hoping you guys get some power back on here shortly.

I managed to write over 1500 words on the new project yesterday, which brings me close to the end of chapter 3. Once I finish chapter 3, I'll have to write the plot synopsis and then send the sucker out to be (hopefully) sold. I'll keep everyone updated on that. In the meantime, I'll likely continue working on it even though it isn't sold. I like the characters so far, and I'm getting caught up in the story. The other project I could work on isn't worth messing with until it actually sells, since it's the sequel to the completed book that's sitting on my editors desk right now. No use worrying about that until my editor gets a chance to read the first book.

So, here are my goals for this weekend, all things that must get done:

1. Grade papers.
2. Bake cookies.
3. Wrap presents.
4. Unwrap the new TV for the 4th floor.
5. Write out Christmas cards.
6. Write out final exams for Calculus I and Differential Equations (the third final is already written).
7. Play with Legos.
8. Call Mom.
9. Get postcards for bookstores ready to mail for the paperback release.
10. Mail packages.

And I'm sure there's more stuff on the list that I just can't remember right at the moment. Given my tendency to procrastinate, I'll probably start with #7, and finish up with #1 or #6 at the last minute. Obviously at this point, #10 will likely have to wait until Monday.

What's on your to-do list for the weekend? Anything interesting?
