So, the few lines of revision requested by my editor are in and approved. She still isn't finished reading the entire book (she has to finish it today however), so I don't know if all of the revisions are officially approved yet. But she's only got 3 more chapters to go if she made it through chapter 9, so I'm not expecting to hear of anything serious to refix after this. All of the significant changes happened in earlier chapters.

In other news, I've reread chapter 11 and it has been officially labeled "done". I also spent some time making a few revision changes to earlier chapters, since I didn't feel like starting chapter 12 today. It's hot enough out that I've already got a headache just from chapter 11. I also took a look a my list of revisions I still want to make before showing this to anyone else and am surprised at how minor they all seem. Most things I fixed along the way.

So, I have about 2 weeks to get the last chapter written . . . but it's a long one. I'm expecting close to 50 pages by the end. And I still need to pack up a significant portion of my apartment and get it cleaned and myself ready to move. I did what I could in two of my rooms this morning before lunch. Tomorrow I need to get more plastic cartons and start work on the kitchen--plates, bowls, etc.

Two weeks, huh? Hmmm . . .

Page count didn't change, even with the revisions, so no change in the word count. That is all.

My editor has stated that the revisions are approved! She wants me to do a double check of the main character's age in the copy I'm to get soon, just to make certain that enough time has elapsed to have her actually be that age, but other than that she said everything looks good.

So I worried endlessly over nothing. *sigh* I'm hoping all authors worry endlessly over nothing on their first book.

Now however, all worry that was relegated to the revision of book one will be transferred to worrying about whether book two will be a huge disappointment to the editor in question. I don't think it will be (I like the book after all), but you never know.

But anyway, first contract fulfilled! Rest of advance on the way (presumably)!!
