The contracts have still not arrived!!!!!! GRRRRRRR!!!! But I must calm down and repeat to myself that they'll never come. In that why I will apply reverse psychology on the Time god and the Mail god, and they will spite me by delivering the contracts today.

They'll never come.

They'll never come.

In other news, I had a phone interview with U of Central Oklahoma on Tuesday that I THOUGHT went horribly wrong, but in fact must not have been that bad because they've invited me to the campus for an on-campus interview. I'm freaking out about it, but I'll be talking to them later today to set things up, so we'll see. That phone conversation is supposed to happen at 2pm today.

In the meantime, I must focus on teaching and NOT get distracted by cursing the Mail god NOR by fretting over job offers that don't exist yet. So, focus, focus, focus.

They'll never come.

They'll never come.

So when the contracts did not arrive in TODAY'S mail, I called my agent and asked whether she knew what was going on. And it turns out that there was a mistake made in the New York office. The head of the office had two sets of contracts from two clients--me and someone else. When Amy told them to mail my contracts, they mailed the other clients's contracts by mistake. The error wasn't found until this morning, when the head of the office asked my agent what she wanted her to do with my contracts and my agent said she thought they'd already been sent. She hadn't had a chance to email me before I called.

Thus MY contracts went out in the mail today. No need to sit atop the mailbox until Monday.

In other news, I've set up an on-campus interview with the U of Central Oklahoma for the beginning of March. That leaves a few weeks for other people to get in touch with me so I won't feel rushed into making a decision on any possible U of CO offer. Maybe by then the "top of my list" will have gotten around to the interviewing process. Here's hoping.
