So, in order to help promote the existence of good books, I've decided that I'll--every now and then--give away copies free. I'm going to start this good deed with Barbara Campbell's books, since I really don't feel they received the attention they deserved when they were originally released.

Barbara Campbell has three books currently out from DAW Books, all part of the Trickster's Game trilogy: Heartwood, Bloodstone, and the recently released Foxfire. I'll be giving away a copy each of the first two books, Heartwood and Bloodstone. I reviewed Bloodstone here, and the review includes a little mini-review of Heartwood as well. You can also see my Author Introduction of Barbara Campbell here, where you can learn alot more about Foxfire.

There's only one catch: if you win one of the copies, you have to read it (well, duh) and REVIEW it either on your blog or post a review at Amazon.com or B&N's webpage, or all of the above. In other words, try to help spread the word. But that's it.

So, to enter, leave a comment here. I'll pick 2 people at random at some point in the future as the winners (probably after a week), then mail the books out. Don't worry, you don't have to read the books in order to enjoy them. There's a 15 year break or more in between each book, so each one is their own self-contained story, with a different main character as the focus.

If you don't want to wait to see if you've won, order the books through Amazon.com at the link below (which also helps me fund these book giveaways, BTW):

Good luck! And spread the word about good books like these!

Oh, and speaking of . . . I tried to mail Vacant Throne to you today, but the line at the post office was horrendous. I waited 10 minutes and hadn't moved, so I decided to try again tomorrow. I'll let you know once it's actually mailed.

I've been in lines like that, so I understand completely. I'll be looking forward to it when you are luckier...

I'll second how good these are: really innovative, engaging and well-told.

Sure, why not. :)

Also, and completely off-topic, I read an interesting theory about the identity of the head of Massive Dynamics on Fringe. You've probably already heard it, too, but if not do you want to?

I haven't heard anything, but I rarely have time to surf the discussion boards on things like this. What's the theory?

That Bell is Walter, which is why Bell's been a recluse since Walter came out of the asylum. Although now I'm wondering if Bell is Walter-from-the-future.

I can always review a good book. In fact, I usually do reviews in two places-- LJ and Goodreads. :)

Well seeing how I don't have a job, I certainly have time to spare to read and review a book. :) Count me on, so long as you don't mind shipping to Canada.

My bookcases are already groaning, but I can never resist a good book offer.
Still trying to get my local Borders to carry yours, btw, as yet to no avail. But I'm still trying, mostly badgering the staff. Eventually they'll cave under the onslaught, even if I can't win them over with charm and smiles.

Ooo, thanks for trying to get my books on the shelf at Borders. They're much more likely to sell if they're on the shelf, right? So keep badgering! *grin*

Don't enter me, as I've already won the dawbooks contest - but I did want to thank you for sending me a signed copy of Bloodstone. I *really* appreciate it. I've already started it and I'm enjoying it so much I've decided to order Heartwood and Foxfire too, through your amazon link. I'll review all three when I've finished them.

Thank you for introducing me to an intriguing series, and THANK YOU for the book. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed the book! And Barbara will appreciate the reviews, I'm sure. Ordering through the link really helps (and doesn't cost you anything), so thanks for that as well. *grin*

Thanks!
