And finally things click

jpskewedthroneSo I was supposed to start writing the last half of book 2 on Monday, and I did write. However it was so freaking hot out that even typing on the computer spawned great quantities of sweat, so I only got about 1,000 words written. Same deal on Tuesday.
But today it wasn't quite as hot and I hit my stride in this chapter. I'm now 5,000 words into it and I figure I can finish off the last of it tomorrow. Unless it's a bad day. But I'm feeling good about it now that things have clicked and I feel like I'm back into the story. And I have that really good feeling you get when the characters spontaneously do something unexpected and you suddenly realize that what they did HAS TO HAPPEN and makes the novel SO MUCH BETTER.
So, overall a good day/half-week. It's looking like finishing the novel this summer might actually happen. A chapter a week would do it.
