OK, I thought I'd posted something on Friday last week but apparently it didn't take. Oh well.

Today is the first day of classes and so far I think I'm prepared. We'll see. The day hasn't been going as planned so far and it's only 9:30am. I'm teaching Linear Algebra again this semester, so it shouldn't be that bad. It's a fun course.

I'm also waiting patiently to hear from my friends who decided to go to Boston for a conference on the one weekend where the east coast was to get slammed by a storm. I'm thinking they aren't going to make it back today.

As for the thesis writing: I got plenty done the last two days last week (which is what the post that didn't take was about). The big massive proof in the third chapter is at least sketched out. I just need to decide exactly how I'm going to present it and then make the appropriate changes. Then I can finish the chapter by saying why the big theorem is useful and then I'm off to the last chapter of the thesis. And that's the chapter I'm most familiar with and have given numerous talks on, so that shouldn't be hard to write. At least I hope.

Then I just have to wait for word on revisions.

And speaking of revisions, I'm still waiting to hear from my agent about the contracts I'm supposedly going to get soon. And I'm waiting to hear about when my editor and I can talk about the revisions to my novel so that the whole process of getting it published can start to happen. But in the meantime, there's always that thesis.
