I'll be attending Norwescon this year and I can't believe that it's NEXT WEEK! I thought it about time I posted my schedule for the con. I'm flying in on Thursday and leaving on Sunday, but if you're there, see if you can catch me at some of these panels, the reading, the autographing, or just sitting at the bar hanging. *grin* Who else is going to be there?

Thursday, April 5th:

5pm: Building a Balanced Mythos: When building a religion for your world, how do you make it balanced and plausible without riffing off of existing religions? How will myth and religion impact your plot and motivate your characters? Why should there be several types of belief systems on a world? (James L. Sutter (M), Benjamin Tate, Clinton J. Boomer, Kevin Radthorne)

6:30pm: Reading: Benjamin Tate reads Leaves of Flame; dark epic fantasy novel.

Friday, April 6th:

9am: Writing Groups: Good Idea or Waste of Time?: There's more than one type of writing group and more than one type of writer. Come find out how writing groups might or might not be exactly what you need. (Mike Brennan (M), Benjamin Tate, Mary Rosenblum, Renee Stern)

10am: Writers Workshop
3pm: Writers Workshop
4pm: Writers Workshop

Saturday, April 7th:

9am: Creating a Novel Outline or Synopsis: A professional novel outline isn't like that thing with the roman numerals you learned in high school. Find out how to craft a good synopsis or outline for your novel. (Mary Rosenbblum (M), Irene Radford, Benjamin Tate)

11am: Writers Workshop

2pm: Doorstops: Truly Enormous Books and Series: Huge books, a never-ending series—why are these herniators so popular? Why does it take so many words to tell a good story? Does anyone edit anything anymore? (Darragh Metzger (M), Benjamin Tate, Pierce Watters)

3pm: Autograph Session: Meet the writers of all those fabulous SF/F books, share stories, and have them autograph their novels (especially the ones purchased in Norwescon’s wonderful Dealers Room). All of our distinguished Guests of Honor will be present.

10pm: Does Size Matter?: Does science fiction and fantasy world-building lend itself to multi-volume series? What series should have ended sooner? And what single novels should have become a series? (Benjamin Tate (M), C.A. Scott, Ted Butler)
