New Book Discussion!

I'm knee-deep in the end of the semester, but managed to get up the next book discussion at the DAW Books blog (dawbooks)! This time, we're discussing Tad Williams' fourth and final novel in the Shadowmarch series, Shadowheart. Stop on by and let us know what you think about the series and this final volume!

Another Fundraiser!

Barbara Ashford, Benjamin Tate, and I are doing a signing at the Yonkers Barnes & Noble THIS COMING SATURDAY, December 10th, from 1-3pm to help raise funds for the Yonkers Public Library! Representatives of the library will be at the bookstore December 9-11th. If you intend to buy any books from Barnes & Noble either at your local store or online--for yourself or perhaps as a gift in the coming gift-giving season--buy them in-store or online from December 9-16th, since a percentage of the purchase will be donated to the library. Here's how you can help:

1. Go to your local Barnes and Noble and load up on books . . . or go online to www.bn.com/bookfairs and load up on books.

2. At checkout (either in-store or online), let the cashier know about the Bookfair ID#: 10434025, or click the box online during the checkout process to indicate that the order is part of the bookfair (the directions for how to do that are at the link to the Barnes & Noble site above).

3. Pay for the books and enjoy them (or enjoy giving them away)!

It's that simple. A percentage is then accumulated and sent to the literacy group.

I helped with a similar bookfair in November and we raised at least $400! I'm hoping to exceed this amount this time around, with Barbara Ashford's help (and Benjamin Tate's, too).
