New Book Discussion and Thanks
Nov. 27th, 2011 10:27 amFirst of all, thanks to everyone who participated in the bookfair/fundraiser for Literacy Volunteers in the days before Thanksgiving. I haven't heard yet exactly how much money was raised, but I believe it topped $300 just on what happened at the bookstore during the signing that first day with Nancy Holzner and Chris Moriarty. If you haven't checked out their books yet, do so. They're great people and I hope to get together with them in 2012 for some good old-fashioned critiquing as part of a new writers group (along with April Steenburgh, of course, part of my old critique group). I'll update everyone on total raised for the fundraiser as soon as I know.
And we have a new book discussion posted over at the DAW Books blog (
dawbooks)! I've been looking forward to Tanya Huff's The Wild Ways since reading the first book, The Enchantment Emporium. A series that's definitely world checking out if you're into urban fantasy. Certainly not like any of the vampire or werewolf series out there, something completely different. Check it out here!
