Martha Wells' "The Cloud Roads"
May. 2nd, 2011 10:31 amToday, I'd like to introduce you all to Martha Wells, who has a new book out called The Cloud Roads, published by Night Shade Books. It came out in March 2011, and should be available at all the usual book haunts. I've included the cover art and a brief description of the book here, but if you'd like to know more, check out the book's webpage, which includes excerpts, so you can get a taste of what The Cloud Roads is all about. Check it out! And let me know what you think of the book if you get a chance to read it!

Cover Copy: Moon has spent his life hiding what he is--a shape-shifter able to transform himself into a winged creature of flight. An orphan with only vague memories of his own kind, Moon tries to fit in among the tribes of his river valley, with mixed success. Just as Moon is once again discovered and cast out by his adopted tribe, he discovers a shape-shifter like himself . . . someone who seems to know exactly what he is, who promises that Moon will be welcomed into his community.
What this stranger doesn't tell Moon is that his presence will tip the balance of power . . . that his extraordinary lineage is crucial to the colony's survival . . . and that his people face extinction at the hands of the dreaded Fell.
Moon must overcome a lifetime of conditioning in order to save himself . . . and his newfound kin.
