*biting of fingernails*

So today I get to talk to my editor about Well of Sorrows. Originally it was supposed to happen at 3pm, but she called yesterday, said she'd read much further than she'd expected, and wanted to move the call up to Noon. I'm nervous. It's been long enough that I don't remember too many details on the novel, which is a good thing and a bad thing. Good because that means I can see it with fresh eyes when I do start revising it. Bad because when I talk to her I might not remember whatever scene it is that she's referring to. *wince* I mean, I started a whole new novel in a new world with new characters and such while I waited for her to get back to me, which means that my mind is in that headspace at the moment, not WoS's.

But I'll survive.

For those of you writers out there watching the blog, my editor does something different for the revisions. Normally, the editor will read the manuscript and compose a revision letter and send that off to the author. My editor likes to do all of this over the phone. So I'm expecting a good 3 hour phone call at the minimum today, unless she doesn't have as much to say about the book as she did the Throne novels. And since it's a new book with new characters and basically a new world, I'm expecting it to run longer. But it's good because when she mentions something she'd like to see worked on or changed, I can respond immediately with where I'd intended to go with it and such, so we can come to some kind of agreement on what REALLY needs to be fixed.

In any case, I'll update everyone this weekend or something with how the conversation went.

On June 20th, 2009, a group of seven authors will gather at the Waldenbooks at the Oakdale Mall in Binghamton, NY, for a rousing good time and the hopes of selling shitloads of books. *grin* Here’s a little bit about each author, and a little bit about their most recent book as well. And if you can’t make the event but would still like signed copies of the books, give the bookstore a call! It’s (607) 798-7452. Speak to April, the manager, and you can work out arrangements to have the books signed and mailed to you. I believe she has a Paypal account and she’s willing to cart the books to the post office and mail them using “media mail,” the cheapest way to mail books. So there’s no excuse! You can have signed copies!
