I have returned!
Jun. 17th, 2008 04:01 pmI managed to make it back from the AP Calc Reading session in Kansas City. I'm exhausted. Not because of the grading, but because of the trip home. You see, I hit the Kansas City airport yesterday at noon . . . and managed to finally make it back to Binghamton today at a noon.
It should not take 24 hours to get from point A to point B.
In any case, I'm back. I'm catching up on emails. I will not be able to catch up on LJ, so if I missed something important that you announced and feel I MUST KNOW, feel free to point it out in the comments to make me aware.
KC was a blast (aside from all the long, drawn-out grading) and i enjoyed all of the gaming, drinking, and meeting of new and old friends. I will definitely go back next year if they invite me. I also managed to sell a few books while I was there.
In addition, I got some rather GREAT!!! news . . . that I'm not allowed to share to the general public yet. So those of you who I already squee-ed too need to keep quiet about it on the blogs and stuff. But we can still celebrate in person at a future date. I'm thinking bar. Alcoholic bar or chocolate bar . . . or both. In any case, I will announce the BIG NEWS!!! on the blog as soon as I have official sanction from the appropriate sources.
Oh, yes, the cover art snippet contest. *grin* People have been having great fun with it and I'm sorry I was away and couldn't make comments. But I'll give everyone until, say, this Friday to put in their guesses as to the title and author for each cover art snippet, and then I'll reveal the answers and comments and the winner. Still haven't decided what the prize will be, but I've still got a few days.
Now, back to trying to catch up on all the lost sleep. And not just from yesterday's airline fiasco. *grin*
