In my previous Geek Love post with the Star Trek Barbie & Ken I found at the flea market, I mentioned I collected crackle glass and someone asked me what crackle glass was. So I thought it might be mildly interesting to some of you to see some of the crackle glass I've collected so far. I wandered upstairs with the camera last night and took a few pics.

So, crackle glass is colored glass that is hand blown and, when the glass is still warm (but not too warm), it is immersed in water for a short amount of time (coldness of water and timing is important), so that the glass cracks but doesn't actually break. So crackle glass looks like it has fine cracks throughout the piece, even though it's still intact and usable.

More on crackle glass for those who care. (Warning: Heavy on the pics!) )

PS--Sorry about the size of the pics. They're only supposed to be 2 inches by 4 inches.
