First Signing
Jan. 5th, 2006 09:15 amNo revisions done yesterday because:
a) It was my birthday, and
b) I had my first signing instead, so I did indeed work, just not on revisions.
It took me a little over 2 hours to get to Albany and Flights of Fantasy for the signing, which was good time. I found the bookstore almost immediately, but was an hour early, so browsed and ended up buying $50 worth of books. BAD, JOSH!! BAD!! Then the bookstore group took me out to dinner at a great Italian place. I could only eat about a third of the plate (I can visualize
pbray and
jennifer_dunne rolling their eyes in not-surprise), but the food was great. Then we hit the store and did the signing. I talked about the book, did a short reading, then answered questions before signing books. As a first signing, I think it was spectacular. Great people, great conversation and questions, very supportive. Just a great overall experience that I hope to repeat next year with book 2 and all of the years after with other books.
After the signing, I hopped into the car for the drive back . . . in sleet and freezing rain and snow. NOT a fun drive. Took almost 3 hours to get home, but I made it safe and sound with no near heart-attacks or anything, so all is well.
I look forward to seeing all of the people at the signing at cons over the next year. Thanks for all the support, guys! I hope you enjoy the book!
