Chapter 8 . . .

. . . is finished. I think. I'm not sure. It feels like an ending, and it would be a good place to cut the chapter, but it isn't where the chapter was SUPPOSED to end. I have another whole scene that was supposed to go here. A big action scene. But now it feels wrong. I'd have to add in another scene to make the action scene feel right, which would increase the length of the chapter by at least another 15 pages, which suggests I should really just start another whole chapter. But that throws off the schedule for the summer.

Hmm. . . .

I'll have to reread chapter 8 tomorrow and decide then, I guess. It currently clocks in at 28 pages. But I really think if I try to add the action scene in here it will feel rushed. *bites lower lip in thought* I guess I'll tentativel announce chapter 8 as finished and begin chapter 9 with the additional scene followed by the planned action scene.
