Update

Well, the contracts have been signed and witnessed (after a little fiasco caused by me) and the celebratory dinner was great!!! Congrats, Tricia, on your 3-book deal!!! Sorry if my contracts arriving intruded on our celebrations for that.

So now I just need to mail the contracts back, along with cookies. Apparently my editor hinted to my agent (who'd told her that I baked when I was nervous) that some cookies would be nice. So I'll bake on Monday and mail the contracts on Tuesday. Fun, fun, fun!!!

Let's see . . . in other news, I got to play the game Carcasonne this past Friday with Yeep. It was interesting and a game I'll most likely buy when I have the funds. Then on Saturday Yeep and Tricia and I played 3 games of Ticket To Ride . . . and I actually won!!! Twice!!! You must understand that Yeep always wins, so the fact that Tricia and I managed to close her out over 3 whole games is . . . amazing. But I'm sure she'll take her vengeance on us the next time. And there will be a next time.

Guinea Pigs

Well, my mom found a guinea pig that's young enough to train and bond with. She's already gotten it and will hopefully be able to bring it up at the end of the week. She wanted to bring it up last Friday but we got snow so she decided to wait. This means I get to use the gift certificate my friends got me for my birthday on other things . . . such as an exercise ball for the guinea pig. This is a plastic ball with a door in it. I can stick the guinea pig inside the ball and let him run around the apartment without worrying about him chewing on any cords or having any "accidents" on the rugs.

So a little excitement for the end of the week: not only a visit from my mom, but a new guinea pig!
