For those looking for "Query How-to" information, I suggest checking Anne Mini's AUTHOR! AUTHOR! blog at www.annemini.com She's recently finished several posts on the subject. As well, there is a lot of information in the site's archives.
While I still have not been picked up by an agent, I have received several requests for partial (and even one full) submission. (Which means that the query did what it is supposed to do!) One rejection even commented that the query letter was very well written, a situation that I attribute to the advice and knowledge passed along by Ms. Mini. Dave
