Contract Update

I mailed the signed and witnessed contracts back this morning, risking snow and certain death. I also included cookies. AND I made up a cookie package for my agent and mailed that as well. Hopefully they will arrive in time to be considered edible (the cookies, not the contracts). I also emailed my agent and editor telling them they were mailed and got an almost instant reply from my editor welcoming me to DAW. I'm now surrounded by a warm, fuzzy feeling. No word on when she'll be able to talk to me about revisions though. She needs to get through the latest "crunch" (as she called it) and then reread the novel. So I'm guessing not this week and probably not next either. But since I'm talking to my advisor today about revisions to my PhD I'm sure I'll have something to keep me occupied while I wait to hear from DAW.

In the meantime, off to give a quiz and torture students.

*g* I hear Daw is a nice house.

Good luck!

I've been told it's a great house. I'm ecstatic to be there. It was my first choice, and since I'm just breaking in I figured I'd get maybe . . . third choice or something. But I worked hard and my agent worked harder and we got the offer.

Bantam's great too. "pbray" has great things to say about it. Which of course made me hideously jealous until I finally had an offer on my book.

*g* I love Bantam. I love my editor. I hope she buys my next book, so I can keep right on loving her.

I just got her poked into the right shape; I'd hate to have to move. (Anne, if you're reading this, don't hit me.)
