I skip this one sometimes when I reread. Not really a cat person either and really the only story that's very interesting is Facade. I did get the impression that the character in Facade may have had extensive back story in her own comics and that might be why it was missing here (sort of a last ditch effort to shoehorn this into the greater DC universe) but I could be wrong.
Of course anytime Death appears it tends to make the comic better. She and the other endless often seem far more interesting than Dream. (I started to mention my other favorite but I'm not sure if you've met any of the others yet!)
