Yippeee!!!!!

My editor has stated that the revisions are approved! She wants me to do a double check of the main character's age in the copy I'm to get soon, just to make certain that enough time has elapsed to have her actually be that age, but other than that she said everything looks good.

So I worried endlessly over nothing. *sigh* I'm hoping all authors worry endlessly over nothing on their first book.

Now however, all worry that was relegated to the revision of book one will be transferred to worrying about whether book two will be a huge disappointment to the editor in question. I don't think it will be (I like the book after all), but you never know.

But anyway, first contract fulfilled! Rest of advance on the way (presumably)!!

It's me...Tina...I finally signed up for a LiveJournal. I friended you, so I can keep track of your stuff. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about with the 2nd book -- just stay positive!

That's what I do best: worry. But I think the second book is good. It's definitely different than the first book.

Great to hear you signed up, too! I'll friend you back, just so you know.

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who thinks this way (transferring anxiety).

I have the ms in my house, you know. That two word line on the second page, coming where it did in the narrative, made me laugh out loud. (in a good way)

maybe it was a three word line

Gak!!!

Someone else has the book?!?!? Let's hike up that anxiety, shall we?

I like that line alot. It's a good slap in the face for the reader, I think. Laughter is a good reaction. *grin*

yes, exactly. because of the opening, the reader starts shifting into gear with certain expectations. I call it the 'portentious prologue' - then, bam! You've undermined them.

Busy weekend. Haven't had a chance to look at it yet beyond that, though. Never fear. I will.

(goes away cackling madly)

That's awesome. Now you can sit back and collect royalty checks on that bad boy.
