So today I went to the bookstore after the gym, because I had a coupon. I was hoping fireun would be there, because I haven't seen her in a while, but no. However, I found the employee who was in charge back in the SF and F section helping a customer. As I came up on them, I realized that they were looking at books and trying to pick one out. So when the employee noticed me and said hi, I said, "You should buy my book!"

And the customer bought my book. That's all I said. The employee pointed out the book (Vacant Throne) and that it was signed and I smiled and nodded and then while the customer read the back cover copy of the book (and checked to make certain it was actually signed) I chatted with the employee.

Now, if I could just duplicate that about 10,000 times I'd have a writing career.

My sister's pulled that off a couple of times, with her books. But it seems to be hit-and-miss. Some people won't buy it even with the author standing *right there* making big, puppydog eyes at them. (Yeah, I'm lookin' at you...)

But yes, learn how to do it on cue, at every store your in, clone yourself (yes, they can be zombie clones) and you're in business.
