Just Call Me Vector

So, I'm back from Lunacon after a little sidetrip on the way back (we missed one of the exits). Overall it was a good con . . . except for the fact that on the way down to the con I started getting a headache. I thought it was just stress, the long drive, etc. But no. The headache got worse. I'm not one to typically reach for any kind of pill or lozenge or anything like that. I just suffer through it. But this was bad enough that I actually asked [livejournal.com profile] pbray if she had some aspirin or something. I chugged two of those but that didn't seem to make much of a difference. So I started eating oranges and drinking orange juice and all that. I was hoping to get away with just the headache. But Saturday brought the onset of a cough. Not a sore throat, just a cough if I breathed the wrong way. The cough I could live with, but everyone time I coughed it felt like my head had exploded. And Sunday . . . add in the congestion. I broke down and got some horribly expensive Sudafed at the hotel. The first two of those didn't seem to help much, but the second two I took on the way home seemed to work.

So yes, you can blame all of your con crud on me . . . although I happen to know that there were a few other people at the con who were sick besides me. But I'm likely the source vector for some of the crud. I'm just hoping it clears up before I climb onto the plane and head to Seattle for Norwescon.

But enough of the sickness and snot and stuff! I got to see tons of people, including the usual posse (who claimed tables at the bar for pretty much all of Saturday evening, with people dropping in and out going to panels and signings and whatnot; oh, and someone paid for my second white russian . . . I owe you . . . or I got it for free, one or the other). Also got to see some of the UConn group that I met last year. As for panels, I had some good ones . . . and some not so good ones. I won't name names. No, no! I refuse to name names! But some people need to not cut other people off, and perhaps let others on the panel speak on occassion, especially, say, the guest of honor.

But overall, a good con. Great to see everyone who was there! Now to start prepping for Norwescon.

PS--It's unlikely that I will be able to catch up on the past few days of my LJ friends list. So if there's something of importance I MUST see, just let me know.

Yarg! But what took the crud so long to catch up to you? Hope you feel better soon!

Feeling better today. Just need to shake the cough and snot. (But the headache is gone, which is what was really making me feel bad.)

Don't forget people who seem to be coming down with Alzheimer's in the middle of the panel and make no sense at all.

Well, I was trying to keep it as general as possible so that people couldn't pick out who I was talking about . . .

Aw, that just sucks. Sounds to me like a sinus infection/cold. I suggest to keep on taking the medicine. It does help! Rest and get better before Norwescon!

Feeling better today. Hope it gone completely by Norwescon.

Maybe a few more of those White Russians could've knocked that crud out. ;)

Perhaps . . . although they didn't seem to help on Saturday night.

You were sick?

Damn, honey, I hereby give you the Iron Man award, because it wasn't obvious at all on our panel Saturday.

Oh yes. Massive headache ALL WEEKEND LONG even though I took some pills (which I "never" do, which is how bad it was).

But I'm a teacher. You learn to fake alot of things, the least of which is good health.
