Two Reminders!

First, if you're in the Albany, NY, area tonight, I'll be doing a reading from, and signing copies of, The Vacant Throne [Amazon; Mysterious Galaxy] at Flights of Fantasy starting at 7pm. Be there!

Also, we're only a week away from the deadline for Contest #1: The Blog Contest. This is the easiest contest to enter, and the deadline is January 9th. I'll be announcing the winners of the free copies of Vacant Throne on January 10th (or thereabouts). Check out the rules for this contest and the others at www.joshuapalmatier.com.

Oh, and as an aside, I've joined the Novel In 90 community here at LJ in an attempt to force myself to finish off Well of Sorrows, even while working the day job. If you're a writer, check out the community and come join the fun! I look forward to mocking being mocked.

*sighs* By the time I wrestled my way through three ice covered parking lots, put my car back together (after trying to break the wipers), and slogged through my driveway (still under five inches of snow)... yeah... I wussed out.

This just means we need to find time for you (and your cohorts) to come out and visit!!! (Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] immlass says "hi"... I was sorta supposed to say that last night...)

Hm. Wonder if I should join the Novel in 90 this time around. It's obviously a good time to do so...

I see you did join. Welcome! Now we can all suffer together. *grin*

I posted a blog about a review for Skewed throne! You can check it out on my LJ...

Thanks for the great review. Yeah, I had no control over the cover art, and I think that's a serious drawback for the sale of the book. Sorry the beginning was slow.

But the entry (it appears in your blog 3 times, with errors in the first two, did you realize this?) not only gets you into the first contest, but the second as well. You can get two more entries in Contest #2 by posting your review on amazon and B&N. But you're in Contest #1 now, and Contest #2 once. Just so you know. *grin*

And thanks again. I'm glad you enjoyed the book!

Thanks. Using the back button instead of the "edit entry" button was my downfall (trying to remember those pesky LJ codes). Ah, well lesson learned!

I know that authors don't get much say-so on cover art (if nothing else, I have learned that from my friends page!), but it was worth mentioning so I do tend to buy books with engaging covers, and so do a lot of my friends. And I know I mentioned the beginning was slow, but in a good, character building way...not in a bad, why-are-there-14-pages-describing-the-light-on-the-grape-vines way.

Anyhow, I posted a review to BandN, but Amazon said no way Jose unless I purchase an item from them under my screenname (and I have not shopped amazon since 2001 when I first joined the CG. Who knows what my screename was then!) so I got half of that done. :)

Well, all this dallying and I have bags to pack and planes to catch. Guess who's book, incidentally second in a series, is going to be my lifeline of choice during this travel period? :D Cheers!
