So today, the paperback of Skewed Throne and the hardcover of Cracked Throne hit the shelves. I've already been informed that some of the amazon orders have shipped of Cracked Throne. I say some because mine has not yet shipped, or so they inform me. I have now decided that there is a conspiracy in which everyone is acting so that I, the author, never actually own a copy of my own book. Sam Butler taunted me with a copy at World Fantasy. Paul Genesse, fellow DAW author with a story in Furry Fantastic, emails to tell me his copy from amazon is on the way. Jim Hines, also a fellow DAW author, is too busy with his own book release of Goblin Quest to even notice that other books were released on the same day. The conspiracy continues!

So go forth! Buy copies of Skewed Throne and Cracked Throne!! Taunt me by sending me pictures of you holding the copy and mocking me!

For those in the Albany area, I'll be reading from and signing copies of The Cracked Throne this coming Saturday at 7pm, along with DAW author Barbara Campbell. Come join us for much frivolity. She was part of the whole "drunk authors destroy dartboard at Albacon" scene. So the signing should be fun! *evil grin*

A WFC report will have to be forthcoming. I'm still recovering and trying to play catchup at the day job. But because everyone else is doing it, here's my tentative con schedule for 2007:

Arisia in Boston, Mass.
Norwescon in Seattle, WA
WFC in Saratoga, NY

I'm sure a few more cons will be added at a later date, such as possibly Balticon, Lunacon, etc. But for now, that's it.

Is this a warning that the revelry will be keeping me awake from 2 blocks away? ;)

Uh oh, time to warn the neighbors. ;)
Congratulations!

Crongrats of the book being out!

Are you doing a signing at the local B&N again? If you are I would like a heads up please!

I don't have a signing at B&N at this point because they black out the dates starting in November due to the holiday season. Bah! But maybe I'll have one in January. I'll let you know.

Other books? I'm not sure what you mean...

Seriously, congratulations. I'm hoping to post a new-book roundup in the next day or two. This virtual tour thing has honestly been a bit of a headache in terms of trying to keep everything updated, ya know?

Wish I could make the signing! Hope it goes great! And I'll keep an eye open for the book at Windycon this weekend.

My amazon shipment of your book has shipped, so hopefully I'll have that soon. I checked at WFC for you book at the con, at B&N, and at Borders, but it wasn't out yet. Probably in the same shipment as my books. *frown*

Well, bat poop on WFC not having our books. I know some B&Ns have it now, so hopefully the last bookseller shipments are done or en route, and author copies will start showing up soon.

Apparently my book has arrived in Austria. A reader contacted me (see these comments) saying she's got her copy already. It's just not at my house. There must be a shipment void there or something.

Maybe if you moved to Austria?

Saturday night Michelle and I spent HOURS, just HOURS, trying to find you so that I could introduce you. No luck, alas.

Congrats on the release of book two!

What?!? I was roaming the parties looking for you guys! I spent most of the time Saturday at the party in 449 though (the Lori Perkins bash), so that's probably why we missed each other. The other parties were way too packed. You couldn't move around, let alone find someone.

Better luck next time, I guess.

That explains it. We never got up to the fourth floor. No one tells us ANYTHING.

I only found out because my room was on the fourth floor.

Kevin and I will be there Saturday evening! Er, we might have kidlets along. We will make them be cute and quiet.

Since it sounds like you've got a partner in crime on this visit, no gaming? *pouts*

I don't think I can work in gaming this time, unfortunately. I still haven't written any exams for next week. Still trying to recoup from WFC. I needed WFC as a break, but it seriously put me behind.

We've got to figure out some way to make this work though. How's January for you guys? I'm off of school then.

And have you played Order of the Stick, the board game, yet?

We have not played it yet, so that'd be cool! I will pout at you for this weekend (but I *totally* get the needing a break after WFC so I won't pout too much *smiles* -- sounds like it was a great con). And January sounds good. We can't do the last weekend in January because of Kev's and Chicklet's birthdays, but earlier in January we could certainly try for!

Oh, and will you be at Boskone this year?

From: [identity profile] jpsorrow.livejournal.com
We'll have to try January then.

I don't plan on going to Boskone this year, although that might change. I'll be at Arisia though.

Okay, I'll try to get a good weekend in January to set for. *smiles*

We keep wanting to go back to Arisia, but we can only afford one Boston con that time of year (and I've done Boskone since I was 12, so missing it isn't an option for me *smile*). I'd love to go on a day membership, even, if I could get my kids into child care for the day. One of these years we will do so.

I already got them yesterday! By oversea shipment! To Austria! Sometimes you just have to love amazon (the .de version)
But I'm not gloating, oh no. That would be so undignified ;-)
I just wanted to tell you that I enjoyed them immensely and that I'm busy writing reviews. Got to spread the word and all that ...

It figures. The author always gets the news and/or books last it seems.

So I have fans in Austria, huh? That's so cool. I get little shivers down my back when I think about it. Good shivers. *grin* Where do you post the reviews? amazon.de?
