King Richard wasn't killed in the Crusades in the movie. He was killed while attacking a castle in France, almost home from the Crusades. He was pillaging France on his way home. I'm not saying this is necessarily any more accurate than what actually happened historically (because I have no clue), but just in case that makes a difference.
