ooh.. side comment time. That happened when I saw A River Runs Through It. I and one other friend kept saying, "This is where the brother dies." and, "Oh, just die, already!" (We were watching it on video, so no worries about disturbing moviegoers.) About the fourth time one of us said that, several of the other people present said, "Why do you assume the brother's going to die?"
"Because," we said in unison. "In the first sentence of the voiceover, he refers to his brother in the past tense." None of them had caught that.
