Break!

So I have today and tomorrow off from the day job, which of course means WRITING!!! I need to get the first chapter of the new start on the work in progress done by Wednesday. This is the project that I talked to my editor about a few weeks ago. I already had six chapters of this done (or so) but she felt that I didn't have the right starting place for the novel. I basically just threw everyone into the deep end of the world, without giving anyone any warning, so she suggested I start in a different place (we discussed a few options) and ease people into the world more. So that's what I'm trying to do. Basically, it involves starting when the main characters are a little younger, so we can experience the discovery of the world along with them. I'd originally started with everyone already in their 30s.

So that's what I'm up to today. I hope to get chapter one done today, and then work on chapter two tomorrow.

Wordage

Ah, 2040 words on chapter 1, which finished it off. Tomorrow I hope to start chapter 2 (I actually know where it begins!!!) and I have to get the grading of the quizzes done. I finished writing up the exams yesterday, so I'm feeling somewhat accomplished.
