Norwescon Schedule
I want to post some thoughts on the shooting in Binghamton . . . but that can wait. I'm not sure I'm ready for it anyway. So in the meantime, here's my Norwescon schedule. It's rather packed, as you'll see. But this is where you can find me during those times. Note the time of the autographing and reading. I expect you all to be there. *grin*

Story-Crafting From Your Subconscious 5:00 PM Cascade 9

The Use and Misuse of Violence in SF and Fantasy 10:00 PM Cascade 4
Lawrence Block once noted that sex and violence in fiction are the best ways to get people's attention. But on the flip side, there's a point at which such things become gratuitous. When is violence absolutely necessary in a story? When does it become gratuitous, or simply in the story for its own sake? And how much is too much?

Writer's Workshop: Jessica Ellen Day 9:00 AM Baker

Rhiannon Held, Joshua Palmatier, Kevin Radthorne, Rosemary Clement-Moore
The Blogger Effect 11:00 AM Cascade 5
Has blogging ruined the fine art of editing? What do we gain with publishing spontaneous writing? And what do we lose? There is a growing network of SF/F professional and aspiring writers connected via LiveJournal and other blogging communities. Is it breaking down the barriers between pro, amateur, and fan-ficcer? Does it function as an informal online writers' workshop, as a support group, or a black hole of cat-vacuuming?
Josh Palmatier, Mark Henry, Michael Martinez, Gordon Van Gelder
