It's freakin' hot!
Yes. So hot in fact that I didn't think I'd do any writing today. Instead, I decided to run errands, seeking places with air conditioning. I spent $600 on a hutch and buffet. A very nice hutch and buffet, but nonetheless I will not be able to seek comfort again for a while. It's too expensive.
After that, I returned home and managed to sit down and write. Not alot, but I got chapter 5 started. I had a fun scene to write today, with Marielle explaining to Varis the . . . differences between relationships on the Dredge and those in the upper city. Varis just does not understand that it's not always rough and tumble, sometimes/often leading to death. And she does not understand why she should restrict herself to interest in a single person. What's the point? Why not two men? Or three? Marielle is having a ball *cough, cough* with this. A little light-hearted relationship humor is always good, I guess.
Oh, Marielle is a character you meet in book 2. Sorry.
