My Domination of the World has Begun!

So, I've been sitting on this news for a LOOOOOOOONG time. For those that have been watching the blog for a while, this is the BIG NEWS that I wanted to announce ages ago but couldn't because I had to wait until it became actually, legally official. But that has now happened and so I can announce:

MY BOOKS WILL BE PUBLISHED IN GERMANY, IN GERMAN!!!!!!

That's right! The German foreign language rights have been sold to Lubbe. After some rather awesome google-fu done by the bestest friend in the world, [livejournal.com profile] pbray, it appears that Lubbe is starting a new imprint and The Skewed Throne is one of the first fourteen books to be published starting in 2009. In her awesomeness, she also managed to run across what the cover will be:

So . . . completely different cover from the US version, eh? What do you think? Does it rock?

I'm completely and utterly stoked by this. Lubbe bought all three books in the "Throne of Amenkor" series, so The Cracked Throne and The Vacant Throne will be coming out in six-month intervals after the first one is released. Obviously they changed the title of The Skewed Throne to Die Assassine, so who knows what the titles of the second and third books will be.

In any case, I feel some kind of contest is warranted. I'm already running the comment contest for November over at [livejournal.com profile] dawbooks, plus there's the "Spirit of Giving" Contest going on to benefit libraries across the nation (and I packaged up the first entries in that today so 12 lucky libraries will be receiving my books soon), so I'll have to think of something else to celebrate this news. Keep watch!

I love that cover... beautiful art. It looks kinda YA...

Awesome!

Congrats! That is indeed a cover made of Awesome. :)

Congrats, Joshua!

It's a nice cover, but isn't she a bit too clean?

[identity profile] melissajm.livejournal.com 2008-11-05 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Love that cover!

[identity profile] green-knight.livejournal.com 2008-11-05 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm, cover isn't showing up here. And I am desperately trying to work out the meaning of the title - I speak German and it Makes No Sense.

[identity profile] lisamantchev.livejournal.com 2008-11-05 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I LOVE the German cover! *APPLAUSE*

[identity profile] mindseas.livejournal.com 2008-11-05 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Congrats on the big news! I love the cover! She looks very Varis to me, with a little architecture woven into her fiber.

[identity profile] kerimaya.livejournal.com 2008-11-05 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe you make a special contest just for us german readers? :) I would be very interested in that one :D

[identity profile] krteilman.livejournal.com 2008-11-05 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Too cool! Congrats my friend!

I love the cover too!

[identity profile] janni.livejournal.com 2008-11-05 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
That cover does rock!

[identity profile] agilebrit.livejournal.com 2008-11-05 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
That's awesome. What a pretty cover!

[identity profile] gauroth.livejournal.com 2008-11-05 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Eee! That's a great cover!

And as an ex-librarian I also want to thank you for sending books to libraries, not just because libraries are always strapped for cash but because not all librarians are up to speed with every genre, and every bit of help is appreciated.

Does that make sense? If not I blame the glass of fizz I've just drunk here to toast your new President-elect!

[identity profile] ceibhfhionn22.livejournal.com 2008-11-05 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Congrats! That's so cool. Love the cover art.

[identity profile] fireun.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
oh, i like that cover almost as much as i like Vacant Thrones. the coloring is absolutely beautiful. and that is so Varis. Looks a lot less YA than the US cover for the same book.

...i cant wait to get my hands on a german language copy. *glee*

Congrats Joshua!!! That is such awesome news!!!!

The cover is fitting. It's a little spooky, but very fitting.

Congratulations! That's delightful news, and that's a wonderful-looking cover. For my money, it better suits the mood and story than the U.S. version.

[identity profile] scbutler.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
